FAQ

Resin bound questions we hear most often.

How much does resin bound surfacing cost in Worcestershire?

Standard aggregate resin is typically £75–£90/m² installed; premium granite and natural stone aggregates run £95–£120/m². A typical 50 m² driveway is £4,000–£5,500 fitted. We give a written quote within 24 hours of the site visit.

Is resin bound surfacing SUDS-compliant?

Yes — properly installed resin bound is fully permeable, draining at over 1,000 litres/m²/hour. We follow the BBA-approved install method, so you don't need planning permission for permeable surfacing on new front drives.

How long does resin bound installation take?

A 40–60 m² resin drive is typically 2–4 days for the resin layer (longer for the base if it needs replacing). The surface needs 24–48 hours to fully cure before driving on it.

Will it crack, fade or weeds grow through?

Cracking comes from poor base prep — we lay a permeable Type 3 sub-base on geotextile membrane, eliminating that. UV-stable resins prevent fading. Weed-free for at least 10 years if installed properly.

Can resin be laid over an existing driveway?

Sometimes — over a sound concrete or tarmac base in good condition. We assess this on site. If the existing surface is failing, the new resin will fail too, so we always recommend replacing the base if there's any doubt.
