Why Seastone for maintenance

Cleaning, re-jointing, sealing — the right way.

Most driveway and patio "cleans" you see locally are just a power-washer and out. We pressure-clean, kill weeds, replace broken blocks, re-sand or re-joint with kiln-dried sand or polymer, and seal with the right product for the surface.

A proper restoration extends the life of a driveway by 5–10 years and brings back the colour and finish of the original install.

FAQ

Maintenance questions we hear most often.

How often should I have my driveway cleaned?

A pressure clean every 1–2 years keeps a driveway looking sharp. Re-sanding is typically needed every 5–7 years on block paving. A full restoration with polymer jointing extends the life of the drive by another 10 years before any major work is needed.

Do you remove oil stains and tyre marks?

Yes — we use specialist degreasers and hot-water pressure washing for oil, tyre marks and rust stains. Most stains come out completely; deep-set old oil sometimes leaves a faint shadow but the surface is dramatically improved.

What's the difference between sand and polymer jointing?

Kiln-dried sand is cheap, easy to top up, but washes out over time and lets weeds through. Polymer jointing locks blocks together, prevents weed growth for 10+ years, and stops block movement. Polymer costs about 50% more but lasts 5× longer.

Will sealing change how my driveway looks?

Yes, slightly. Matt sealers preserve the natural colour. Wet-look sealers darken the blocks and bring out their original colour — looks great when freshly laid. We bring samples to every site visit so you can see the finish before deciding.

Can you fix sunken blocks?

Yes — we lift the affected area, re-set the sub-base properly and re-lay. Sinkage usually means the original sub-base failed (cowboy install). We fix it permanently, not patch it.
